Jon T. Muraoka – President

Jon is the President of Fukunaga & Associates, Inc. and brings over 30 years of civil engineering experience. He has served as project engineer on a wide range of civil design projects, including water and wastewater systems, site development, and highway infrastructure. His expertise lies in civil works, with additional experience in infrastructure master planning, as well as the development of construction plans, specifications, environmental permitting, and cost estimating. Prior to joining the firm, Jon spent five years as a civil engineer with the City of Oakland's Department of Public Works, where he worked on roadway design, site improvements, and construction inspection.

Jon serves as Principal Advisor of Fukunaga & Associates, Inc., with over 42 years of civil engineering experience. He has held key roles as design engineer, project manager, and Principal-in-Charge for a wide range of planning, programming, and design projects involving water and wastewater systems, site development, subdivisions, and highway design. His expertise includes hydraulics, hydrology, and advanced computer applications, with an emphasis on computer-aided design (CAD) and geographic information systems (GIS). Jon's experience spans infrastructure master planning, environmental assessments and impact statements, and the preparation of construction documents, including plans, specifications, and cost estimates. He has specialized knowledge in trenchless technologies, particularly in pipeline projects using horizontal directional drilling (HDD) and microtunneling.

Royce is the founder and current Principal Advisor of Fukunaga & Associates, Inc., bringing over 55 years of civil engineering experience. He holds both a B.S. and M.S. in Civil Engineering with a focus on Hydraulics and Hydrology from Stanford University. Early in his career, Royce served as a project engineer with Park Engineering, Inc., the Federal Aviation Administration, and Chung Dho Ahn and Associates. His project work spans the planning and design of water and wastewater systems, site development, subdivisions, and highway infrastructure.  Royce has held leadership roles in several professional organizations, including the Hawai'i Water Environment Association, American Public Works Association (Past Director), Consulting Engineers Council of Hawai'i (Past Director), and American Water Works Association (Past Section Chair and International Director). His contributions also include serving as an instructor in hydraulics and drainage at the University of Hawai'i at Manoa's Civil Engineering Licensing Refresher Course, Vice-Chair of the State of Hawai'i Environmental Council, and Chair of the State Certification Board for Water System Operators.

Clifton serves as Vice President at Fukunaga & Associates, Inc. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and a Master's degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Hawai'i. Clifton has extensive experience in stormwater, wastewater, and roadway infrastructure projects. His project portfolio includes the Department of Parks and Recreation NPDES Stormwater Project, Repair 24-Inch Underwater Waterline at Ford Island to Landing C, Repave South Avenue Project, Beachwalk Force Main Rehabilitation, Ala Moana Force Main No. 2 Condition Assessment, and Force Main Systems Improvements at Kunia and 'Ewa Beach. His responsibilities have encompassed the preparation of planning reports, construction drawings, and technical specifications.
