He has served as project engineer on a wide range of civil design projects, including water and wastewater systems, site development, and highway infrastructure. His expertise lies in civil works, with additional experience in infrastructure master planning, as well as the development of construction plans, specifications, environmental permitting, and cost estimating. Prior to joining the firm, Jon spent five years as a civil engineer with the City of Oakland's Department of Public Works, where he worked on roadway design, site improvements, and construction inspection.

His expertise includes hydraulics, hydrology, and advanced computer applications, with an emphasis on computer-aided design (CAD) and geographic information systems (GIS). Jon's experience spans infrastructure master planning, environmental assessments and impact statements, and the preparation of construction documents, including plans, specifications, and cost estimates. He has specialized knowledge in trenchless technologies, particularly in pipeline projects using horizontal directional drilling (HDD) and microtunneling.
